epSILon is a special formulation for foliar application. It is intended for the control of small insects such as pear flea, apple moth, mealybug and thrips, and is based on trivalent silicon. Essentially the insects are killed as a result of the structure created around and outside their body and not by some toxic interaction. As a result of this process, a sticky, thin film (polymeric, three-dimensional structure) is created on the surface of the leaf and on the outer body surface of the insects with which it comes in contact. As a result of the above process, the insects are immobilized on the surface of the leaf where they die within a short period of time.
